TRAILHEAD: Red Rocks Group Campground

MEETING PLACE: Safeway 3275 W Colorado Ave

                               Arrive by 8:35 Leave by 8:45

HIKE STARTS at (TH): 9:30 am    Please arrive by: 9:15

HIKE DISTANCE:  about 2 miles

ELEVATION GAIN:  about 300ft

ALTITUDE: 8,500

HIKING TIME (moving time): 1.5 hours 

HIKE DIFFICULTY RANGE: easy, lots to see.

HIKE DESCRIPTION:  This is a beautiful area to explore with gigantic red sandstone formations. It is fun to climb around these huge rocks. There are many criss-crossing trails to explore. Aspens should still be in full color. Views of the north side of Pikes Peak are stunning on a sunny day. There are 2 gentle inclines and poles may be helpful.

HIKER PREPARATION/EQUIPMENT:  bring plenty of water as well  poles if you wish.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO TRAILHEAD: Drive west on Hwy 24 through Woodland Park.Turn right onto Hwy 67 and go 4 miles to the trailhead. There is a large sign for Red Rocks Group Campground on the right, and pull into the first parking area.

RESTROOM: None. There is a public restroom midway through Woodland Park on the left as you drive through town.

PETS: Yes on leash. Please clean up after your pet.
