Meeting Place: Maizeland and Paseo Road park entrance. Be sure you are on the Maizeland
side of the park, next to the bathrooms. We will carpool up to the trail head due to multiple and
confusing turnoffs.
Hike start time: 8:30 AM. Please arrive at the meeting place by 8:15 AM
Hike distance/elevation gain: about 4 miles, 524 ft gain.
Difficulty: moderately challenging due to rocky parts of the trail.
Moving time: about 2 ½-3 hours depending on weather. Bring poles and plenty of water.
Description: This hike will take us on a trail just below the top of Palmer Park Mesa. There are
many interesting large rock formations and beautiful views of the downtown Colorado Springs
city area. There are some challenging rocky areas to cross and repeated ups and downs in the
trail. An “easy out” to the top of the mesa is available in several spots if conditions dictate. See

Driving directions to meeting place: Maizeland and Paseo Rd entrance by ball fields, Palmer Park. (3344-3376 Paseo Rd. parking lot). From N Circle and Constitution, take N Circle Drive north to Maizeland Road. Turn right onto Maizeland Road and drive .8 miles. Turn left into the park entrance which is Maizeland and Paseo Road. Meet in the parking lot for the ball fields.(3650 Maizeland)

Dogs welcome on leash. There is an unleashed dog park area at the top of the Mesa.
