Join the Dismantling Racism Team for a viewing and discussion of 13th, a 2016 Ava DuVernay film about how the U.S. prison system perpetuates racial oppression and disenfranchisement. Following the movie, there will be a brief presentation by the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition on their work opposing proposition 132, connecting the movie's themes to today's legislation in Colorado and actions we can take.
Arrive at 2pm for snacks and refreshments. Movie begins at 2:20pm, followed by discussion and CCJRC presentation. To attend, please register here by Sept 19th. Questions, contact Yvonne at dismantlingracism@asuuc.net
