Thank you to all who participated in the Westside CARES Backpack and School Supplies Project this year. Thanks to generous donations from 25 faith communities, Westside CARES volunteers distributed 100 large boxes containing 365 backpacks and 415 sets of supplies to 23 schools serving students in need. Schools in the Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Cheyenne Mountain, and Harrison Districts received supplies, including backpacks, pencils, filler paper, spiral notebooks, colored pencils, crayons, rulers, scissors, tissues, Expo markers, and other items.

Your collection was greatly appreciated. Collections exceeded the targeted amounts; as a result, we were able to provide additional materials to schools that requested extras.

We wish you could have heard the expressions of thanks and appreciation when the supplies were delivered. Here are a few emails we received:
