I’m new to ASUUC. Where do I begin?

Getting to Know UU - This class is designed for those who are considering membership or want to deepen their relationship with All Souls. Experienced members are welcome to enroll as space allows.

I’d like to know a little more about Unitarian Universalism and what UUs believe.

UU Theology in Story, Song, and Symbol - A frog, a house, some rocks, 2 pinkies, and a rainbow. What can these things tell us about the theology of Unitarian Universalism? In this class we will we share stories, songs, readings, and, even lectures as we endeavor to find what these symbols tell us about current theological thought among UU’s.

What are some tools I can use that will help me be able to respond rather than react to life’s challenges?

Spirit in Practice - What do people mean when they talk about spirituality? What does that mean to you? Why does every religious tradition and many secular traditions strongly recommend some form of regular mindfulness practice? How does that transform our very being, our brains, our perspective on reality, and our resilience?

How can I serve and support my church?

Finding Your Calling - Discern your gifts and interests , learn about how volunteer work is a way to live our Unitarian Universalist theology and can be a spiritual practice that transforms your life, and then think about how your gifts and interest meet the congregations needs.

Money and Faith - Explore the ways in which money connects us with others, including money issues in congregational life, then delve into ways to align faith, values, and a sense of a life calling with financial ways of being and Generosity.

How can I help bring about the beloved community?

Justice-UU Style: -Learn about UU theologies of justice work, familiarize yourself with the cycle of action and reflection, begin to identify personal strengths for doing the work, and explore the various on-going justice work being done at ASUUC.

Is there a small supportive group I can meet with to talk about life’s big questions?

Covenant Groups - Join a small relational group made up of six to twelve people who meet regularly for deep listening and reflection in their own beloved community
