The Basics:
The Youth Group meets most weeks between Labor Day and Memorial Day except for intergenerational service Sundays, involving students ranging from 6th to 12th grade. We gather in the upstairs multi-purpose room next to the kitchen and across from the church administrative office following the time for all ages in the service.
Our Mission: The All Souls 6-12th Grade Youth Group exists to create a space where our youth can come as they are and socialize, discuss, learn, and support each other as they explore what it means to be part of a Unitarian Universalist community.
Our Focus and Goals:
In the 2025-2026 Church Year (Sept 2025 to May 2026) our Youth Group is going to be focused on creating connections and leadership opportunities for our youth to engage with each other, UU our faith tradition, and our UU and Colorado Springs Community in ways that help them better understand themselves and their sources of joy.
Our overall goal is creating a welcoming, engaging group where youth can come as they are and feel supported and encouraged. Emphasizing the significance of allowing our youth to shape their own course and aspirations within the group, we actively encourage and welcome their valuable input. This youth group is active and growing by leaps and bounds.
A Beautiful Rainbow Tapestry of Community:
We especially want to extend a welcome our neurodiverse, nerdy, queer, trans, quiet, awkward youth to come and spend time with us. If you have youth who have considerations that would help for us to be aware of, please don't hestitate to contact Ben Wallace directly at asuucyouthgroup@gmail.com so we can ensure we are as welcoming as possible when they visit!
