 IKE DISTANCE: 2.5 miles\nELEVATION GAIN: about 300 Feet\nHIKING TIME (movi
 ng time): about 1.5 hours\nHIKE DIFFICULTY RANGE: Easy\nPACE: Moving along
  but enjoying the views.\nHIKE DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful hike throu
 gh a forest of gambel oak.There are a\nvariety of landscapes and you shoul
 d hear or see wild turkeys. Bear scat has been seen but\nhopefully bears a
 re too shy for our group. We will have good views of Colorado Springs and\
 nFort Carson and Cheyenne Mountain. The trail is in good condition. The we
 ather should be\nsunny and mild with no precipitation. Wear layers for com
 fort.\nHIKER EQUIPMENT: Poles may be helpful. Bring plenty of water. Check
  the weather. There is\na $10 permit day use fee unless you have a “keep
  it wild” license plate.Somewhere along the\nhike\, we will take a short
  break to have a snack and water.\nDRIVING DIRECTIONS TO TRAILHEAD: Drive 
 SOUTH on highway 115 about 2 miles past\nSouth Academy Boulevard. Turn rig
 ht into the entrance to Cheyenne Mountain State Park.\nDrive up the mounta
 in passing several turn offs until you see a sign on the left for Falcon\n
 amphitheater. Meet in the parking lot.\nRESTROOM: Yes at the trailhead and
  at the Visitor Center as well as open campsites.\nPETS: No
