DESCRIPTION:We provide hike length\, elevation gain\, estimated difficulty\
, pace &amp\;amp\; other details so you can judge whether a hike is a good
fit for you based on your own physical fitness and abilities. If you are
new to mountain hiking or higher altitudes we recommend that you start wit
h easier hikes and work your way up. (Our 3rd Monday hikes are always inte
nded to be Easy.)\n\nWe stay together as a group and leave no hiker behind
. Otherwise\, we are a group of friends out for a walk (usually in the woo
ds) and we are each responsible for our own personal safety.\nHIKE NAME: L

zoho.zmail.ZohoMailShare\n(Also see Driving Directions below)\nHIKE DISTAN
 CE: about 5-1/2 miles\nELEVATION GAIN: 950 feet\nHIGHEST ALTITUDE: 6\,500
feet\nHIKING MOVING TIME: about 3 hours\nEST. HIKE DIFFICULTY RANGE: Moder
ate due to hike length and elevation gain. For some hikers this trail coul

rdy hiking boots/shoes should mostly eliminate that issue.\nPACE: We will
move along at a moderate pace of about 2 mph\, with occasional brief stops
to enjoy views\, surroundings\, wild flowers (if they are blooming!) &amp
\; a snack.\nHIKE DESCRIPTION: This lollipop trail starts across the road
from Temple Canyon Trailhead. The first mile or so crosses desert landscap
e with cholla cactus and other denizens of the high desert. The trail then
rises and proceeds through juniper and ponderosa forests. There are strik
ing views of Pikes Peak and surrounding landscapes throughout the hike. Th
e trail surface is mostly packed sandy dirt with embedded rocks and is in
good condition. For a trail map &amp\; additional hike information go to:
 https://trails.colorado.gov/routes/187249#activity=hiking\nHIKE LEADER: Da
n Zeddies dzeddies@zoho.com 719-659-6714. If you would like to go on this
hike please contact hike leader by the day before the hike. Please include
